Our Brewer
From Humble Beginnings
Chris has been a professional brewer and cider maker in the Columbia River Gorge since 2019. His fermentation journey began as an award winning homebrewer. From there, he started his 3 year tenure as the Cider Maker at Golden Row Cider in Parkdale, OR.
He had the rare opportunity to design a commercial brewery on the same property, and helped launch Mt. View Brewing as the Head Brewer. A position he held for 2 years. Before leaving Mt. View, he played a vital role in producing and bottling the first estate wine under the Grateful Vineyard label.
Chris felt the time was right to challenge himself and seek greater opportunity for his family. On his way to launching Hood River Brewing he brewed briefly at Sedition Brewing in The Dalles, Oregon.

We started our family 13 years ago in Hood River. Our love, and our family, have grown over the years. The best things in life require patience and commitment.

We feel blessed for all the joy and success the universe has provided us. Making beer for a living is a hard won dream come true. When I moved to Hood River 20 years ago I had no idea there was a craft beer revolution going on. Crazy world!
Is there such a thing as fate?
We actually briefly lived near each other in the same Chicago neighborhood as children. Although we didn’t know each other, it’s hard to imagine that we didn’t play in the same park or swim at the same beach on a sunny summer day.
